IBM ACCELERATES ENTERPRISE GEN AI REVOLUTION WITH HYBRID CAPABILITIES
At the customer conference IBM Think 2025, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna announced that the era of AI experimentation is over. With IBM’s latest AI agents, companies can develop powerful, integrated solutions in a very short time that can be seamlessly embedded into existing systems.
According to a new IBM study, only 25 percent of companies currently achieve the expected ROI from their AI initiatives. A new generation of AI agents is now set to allow companies to develop, orchestrate, and integrate solutions into existing systems within minutes.
With over eighty ready-to-use enterprise integrations—including Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Adobe, Oracle, and AWS—these agents are designed to automate operational processes and generate business value. Application development occurs without programming knowledge, enabling business units to take action independently.
To achieve this, they need the components and functions of the “Agent Building Studio.” This is a no-code tool that allows business users to create AI agents independently. Those familiar with these challenges in daily operations can model solutions immediately and integrate them into existing workflows.
IBM offers pre-built AI agents such as HR agents, procurement agents for purchasing, and sales agents for sales. The latter are linked to platforms like Salesforce, Seismic, and Dun & Bradstreet.
In collaboration with Salesforce, the Agentforce platform is already being used to efficiently consolidate data from IBM Z mainframes and Db2 databases. This particularly enables faster and more informed decision-making in regulated industries like finance.
Regarding multi-agent orchestration, multiple AI agents can be systematically coordinated. Through a protocol, dependent agents can also be included, facilitating enterprise-wide integration. A single agent can call and control other agents (including those from other manufacturers). This is certainly a significant step toward automated processes across the enterprise.
A comprehensive traceability of agent activities ensures that requirements for transparency, KPIs, and compliance are met at all times. This is essential for governance.
Through intelligent automation, companies can not only reduce costs but also significantly increase the resilience and efficiency of their IT infrastructures. IBM offers automation solutions that help companies optimize their IT processes while increasing operational security. With tools like “IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration” and “IBM Concert Resilience Posture,” companies can effectively manage and automate hybrid environments.
IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration is an integration platform that allows for managing APIs and connecting independent applications. This enables data and events to be exchanged at any time.
A new API agent is set to simplify and accelerate API-based integration. With IBM Concert, an orchestration platform for managing and operating business applications, these can be continuously improved through automation. IBM has recently announced the IBM Concert Resilience Posture Tool, which promotes collaboration between development and operations teams within companies through “intelligent resilience.” Vulnerabilities in applications can be detected in real-time and continuously improved.
New partner solutions include the integration of Amazon Q Index, a data repository from AWS, with IBM Watsonx Orchestrate; this enables intelligent process automation. Building on this, companies can deploy specific AI agents for areas like HR, sales, and procurement, pre-built by IBM.
Automated security updates are intended to ensure “intelligent resilience.” Based on a modular system, IBM offers modular solutions that allow companies to develop and implement tailored automation strategies.
